Yesterday, Governor Mohammed A. Abubakar met with Mr. Pang Xin Xing, President of the Startimes Group, China. The meeting which took place at the Startimes Headquarters, Beijing, had key representatives from both teams present. Several matters were discussed in the meeting, and chief among them was the proposed digitisation of the Bauchi state owned BATV (Bauchi State Television Authority) and BRC (Bauchi Radio Corporation). While speaking to the press after the meeting, Governor Abubakar said, “we are seeking the collaboration of Startimes because we want to bring our state-owned media outlets back to life. This would improve the quality of content and information our media platforms produce, and ultimately create jobs in the media, technology, and other sectors.” Governor Abubakar’s working visit to China has also seen him sign bilateral agreements with investors in Agriculture, Mining and Power.
